I suddenly remembered Marisha dressing up one halloween as "Soldier B", who was a generic character, one she had to portray a lot, fast forward to her creating Laudna from a dead villager that was a medium to shock the main heroes and did nothing else, and taking this character to transform it into this undead creepy, visually complex, highly expressive character... I just.. (cries in being happy for one amazing Marisha Ray)

"Alright, so I will! I do. I do. I kiss her." I'm a bit late to the party, but here's my celebratory Imogen and Laudna artwork!! + some details:

apologies for a) the lack of a rock chisel in Laudna's hair, b) the shitty background and c) imogen's sleeves being incorrect!!

the idea to draw imogen and laudna as this still from céline sciamma’s portrait of a lady on fire (2019) came to me in a dream. might do more movie redraws with these two because digital painting is fun and rewarding!! even though drawing fabric takes so so long. I also included close-ups on some parts I’m proudest of.

so laura bailey’s lean in was probably just her adjusting her chair but I like to imagine a world where it was a WILD acting choice, either way this episode killed me and I missed laudna so much, so I animated for the first time in a hot second. sorry it’s so short and not great looking but my god marisha and laura kill it every time with these characters and by it I mean me, help.

forgive me for the orpheus and eurydice parallel with these two but I can’t help but see it. these recent episodes have destroyed not just my pussy (sorry) but also my heart and soul. I had to paint something angsty and moon-washed and sad, so here you go!!! complete with some close-ups on their faces. I love them, I miss laudna, I am very excited for the coming episodes.

crossed over to critical role for my third old painting redraw!! this one is a bit more obscure than the kiss or the meeting on the turret stairs but I love it very much and think it quite suits imogen and laudna.

marisha and liam really have THE RANGE. heart-breaking love story between keyleth and vax, beau and caleb as bffs who are uncomfortable with emotions, and now laudna and orym as... mother and son?

I don't get how critters aren't constantly on their hands and knees praying and giving tribute to Creative Director Marisha Ray daily, in fact I don't get how all of the constant hate she gets doesn't get immediately ratioed; the live shows the sets the production has jumped and improved to a level that is theatre stage quality and elevated the entirety of the show with it and while I understand there are a lot of talented artists are behind it, its marisha's vision that is constantly keeping shit in line and you can SEE it. wherever there is fun, magic, mystery and whimsy I always see her hand behind it. she deserves the world
