Prima:

He embodies the light, the order and the good. Similar to Primus. However, over the millennia, he will always weaken and almost fall into darkness. It goes so far that he soon becomes paranoid of everything that looks evil and exacerbates the laws of Cybertron. Alone through the paranoia, he went so far as to let the Predacons die out, at the time when Cybertron was deadly to every living being through massive sunbeams.

He became the leader of civilization, but what became of him is hardly known. Many say he was killed when his paranoia became too strong. Others say he left Cybertron and never returned. The truth, however, is that he currently lives between the dimensions in a palace of crystals and light that his brother, the timekeeper, once had him build.

Vector Prime:

He is the time and one of the most powerful among the Primes. He is known as the keeper of space and time. He also has a rich arsenal of weapons, which he will also use in combat. However, you can only see him with 2 weapons, the Time Sword and the Dimensional Sword. In addition, he has the capability of phase shifting. He can also move his portals (similar to Dr. Strange Scene in Thor 3, Ragnarok). He himself lives outside the time stream in absolute isolation. In the beginning, however, he lived among his siblings until the Prime War broke out. After that, his life changed and he experienced for the first time suffering and sorrow. His secret love was taken by force, which he still secretly mourns today. Due to an accident he was banished by his eldest brother, which forced him to leave Cybertron. On one of Cybertron’s moons, he set up a dimension pocket that was out of the time stream and lived in it from then on. Through this extreme isolation, he lost more and more compassion for others and he became emotionally dull and aloof. Later, Primus revealed to him that he himself was the universe, by his abilities he possessed a power that could destroy the universe itself, whereby they were sealed by Primus for safety’s sake.

Alpha Trion:

He is the Timekeeper’s Twin Spark and represents the History. Not only from Cybertron, but also from the universe. In his Quill, a device in which all the historical data is collected, there are data that nobody knows; Except for himself. Through the timekeeper, he learns much, even from other universes and this data he collects all. In Iacon, where he lived, he set up several data centers to record and store all historical events, including those that are yet to take place. So it may be that even the history of the emergence of many universes are stored in Iacon. There is also other data, data about languages, culture, other species and much more.

The hidden ability of Alpha Trion is a very powerful one, which he can only use with the help of Micronus Prime and Vector Prime, because they can fundamentally change everything. He has the power to rewrite the history of the universe so that certain things never happened. This ability is used only in the most extreme emergencies and fortunately only happened once.

Onyx Prime:

He represents the nature of Cybertron. The flora and fauna. He speaks all animal languages, takes care of fauna and flora and can make exact predictions through his mask, whether past, present or future. Through his animal body, he has the opportunity to move wild and unrestrained. He is also good at flying. After the fight against his siblings, he was so badly damaged that he had to return to the Allspark.

Nexus Prime:

He is the giant of the Primes and later became a combiner. He was once cut into 5 parts by Vector Prime, which made him a combiner. The 5 pieces were formed in 5 Transformers, who had the task to protect access to the dimension pocket of Vector Prime. Over time, however, they forgot their task and returned to Cybertron, where they lived there as normal Transformers. [more information will be added later.]

Micronus Prime:

He is the first Minicon and thus their leader. He was also the best friend of Nexus Prime. They often traveled with Amalgamous and Onyx Prime, where Micronus liked to sit on his shoulders. His ability is to expand and strengthen the skills of his siblings. For example, at Optimus he may increase the ability to reactivate Primus or at Alpha Trion, the ability to transcribe history. [more information will be added later.]

Alchemist Prime:

He is the scientist and manipulator of the elements. He controls them all. Earth, water, fire, wind and also ether. Mainly he prefers to work with fire and ice. Its two wide arms allow you to influence the elements and shape the materials as you need them. Alchemist is the patron of many ancient ancient buildings on Cybertron. He also has his hands on Vector Sigma and has been the main sponsor of Amalgamous, Vector and Alpha. The disadvantage with Alchemist is that he consumes tons of energon by manipulating the elements, so you see him mostly in the area with a Energon drink in his hand. Now he is dependent on the Rarified Energon, the strongest form of the energon. Due to this addiction, he often seems clumsy, confused or oh drunk. It often happened that with his favorite elements he involuntarily harassed other bots by accidentally setting them on fire or freezing them up. Depending on which arm touched the Transformer. What has become of him is unknown to anyone.

Amalgamous Prime:

He is the transformation and the first carrier of a T-Cog, the organ what the Transformers need for their transformations. Amalgamous can transform into whatever he wants and try new things every day. Alone through this ability, he often tends to play his siblings some pranks. Only rarely do these pranks go down well. He is also the inventor of the following generations of T-Cogs, which he invented, but never really built. [more information will be added later.]

Quintus Prime:

He is the dreamer and creator of the Quintessons. This Prime tends to live out his fantasy often and to invent new things again and again. The greatest achievement was the said Quintessons, which later started and lost a war with the people of Cybertron. Quintus himself was later destroyed by the Quintessons himself. [more information will be added later.]

Solus Prime:

She is the Forger and the creator of all the weapons the Primes use. Her works are, for example, the Star Saber of Prima, the Requiem Blaster by Megatronus or the two swords of Vector Prime. In addition, she also worked on the quill, although little, but her hammer was very useful for the rest of the construction. She fell in love with her own brother Megatronus Prime, which kept her for several millennia. Unfortunately, Prima came behind her secret and disapproved of this connection. She was unclean and had to quit. Based on Prima’s testimony, she argued with her eldest brother over and over again and often retires to her smithy. There she was often visited by her other siblings. Later, she was murdered by her own lover, causing the Primes War to break out. She is also the founder of civilization on Caminus and is worshiped there as a goddess.

Megatronus Prime:

He is the one who is also known as the fallen. He stands for the fight and for the war. He was the warrior. However, he can easily be misled for evil and darkness. He hates Prima, but he coveted Vector and Optimus for their powers. Although physically united with Solus, he was also inclined to associate with others of his siblings. So far, he has had little success. During the fight against Unicron, he was briefly obsessed by this and shot Vector Prime, so that his spark could only be saved by a quick intervention of Amalgamous, Alpha and Optimus. From this day on, the quarrel between him and Prima deepened, as his older brother hardly ever trusted him anymore. The connection between him and Solus did not make it any better, but made it worse. Over time, As time passed, he often succumbed to Optimus, trying to seduce him again and again, after the fight against Unicron his desire grew even bigger. But this difference of Megatronus brought him completely down, although here Liege Maximo had more of his fingers in the game, but he was known as the favor in the story. Especially after the murder of Solus Prime.

Liege Maximo:

Liege Maximo, the manipulator or rather the speaker. He is known for his gift of words and language. Much is not known about him, only that he was responsible for the fact that Megatronus was completely known as the Fallen and made him into a rage. He was also later murdered by him. [more information will be added later.]

Optimus Prime:

He is the visionary. The one who was more like Primus than any other Prime. He understood the way of life and where it should lead. He is the one who always reminded the Primes of what they were created for. Due to his great resemblance to Primus and the ability to connect with him, he was desirous and often tempted by Megatronus, whom he always vehemently resisted. He was later used as a lure for Unicron and learned even the art of healing to Amalgamous to assist if one of the Primes be injured dangerous. After fighting Unicron and the Primes War, he voluntarily joined forces with the Allspark and was later reborn as Orion Pax. Alpha Trion knew this and took care of him. By electing the High Council for the new Prime Orion Pax became Optimus Prime. However, he gained his memories of his previous live, only at the second merger with the Allspark.

You couldn't help but think back to that night and smile. School had graciously come to an end, and you had planned to celebrate with your friends. The night had continued on and on, but eventually you hitched a ride home with a friend. You were tired and a little drunk, yet you never expected to see a familiar semi truck parked in your driveway. At first, you thought you were hallucinating, until the door opened and a holoform of Optimus stepped out.

"Shit," you muttered. You weren't at all presentable nor were you in the right state of mind. Yet you straightened yourself out before approaching. "What's wrong? I didn't expect to see–" He pulled you in for a hug.

"Congratulations on graduating." Optimhs whispered, squeezing you a bit before pulling away. "I....uh, I apologize for not attending your graduation."

"Don't worry about it." You smiled. "I'm glad I got to see you today. Plus graduation is pretty boring so you didn't miss anything."

"Don't say that, nothing is boring when I get to see you." He planted a small kiss on your forehead. You chuckled and pulled him in to press your lips on his lips. He deepened the kiss as he lifted you up, gently carrying you to the passenger seat of the truck. "Is it okay if we go for a midnight drive?" He asked, his head leaning into your neck as you pulled him in.

"Yes.....yes." You breathed. He gave you a wide grin before he closed the passenger door. You watched the scene outside the window as Optimus drove. He glanced at you from time to time, a little hesitant if he should start a conversation or not.

He finally mustered the courage to break the silence, "Any specific plans after graduation?"

"Hmm, probably getting a job and getting my own place to move to." You shrugged. "There's nothing much to do." Optimus nodded in understanding.

"I....I know I'm not around a lot, but if you do need help looking for a job, just give me a call and I'll drop everything to give you a ride and help." Optimus offered. You stared at him closely

"You don't have to do that–"

"I want to." He smiled at you before focusing back on the road. After a couple hours of driving, Optimus parked alongside a bumpy road. It was quiet and deserted, yet on the other side of the river was a city skyline glittered in lights. You jumped out to stare at the scene and Optimus' holoform joined you. "Some day, I'll take you somewhere else that's not a couple hours away.....I'll take you somewhere you want to go to."

"Aw that's sweet! But I just want to be wherever you go." You smiled up at him. Could holoforms blush? Perhaps it was the trick of the light, but Optimus averted your gaze as he turned to face away from you. You chuckled to yourself before his hand snaked around your waist to pull you closer to him.

"C'mere." He chuckled. "You really had my spark pounding like that." He pressed his lips against yours as his hands squeezed your hips against his body. You let out an involuntary moan into the kiss and Optimus smirked as he deepened the kiss before his lips moved down to your neck. You gasped as you clenched onto Optimus' shirt, his hold on you was tight and you felt like you were drowning in pure bliss.

"Optimus–" you moaned. His kiss went down to your collarbone, before he softly took your hand to kiss your pulse point.

"Happy graduation, my spark." He gazed up at you with those electric blue eyes and you couldn't help but stop breathing, hoping to keep the moment forever in your memory. Maybe you were selfish to wish for the night to stay forever, but you cherished every minute until dawn.

But unfortunately the Ritalin shortage in Summer caused me to become hyperfixation on Overwatch, Gabriel Reyes/Reaper in particular (AGAIN), against my very will.

But I'm here to make it everyone else's problem again and have been challenged by @wildissylupus to post my Martina Reyes HCs (or basically character summary at this point)!!!

(Please note I am Filipina, not Mexican or Latine at all, I'm trying my best to research, but please correct me if I'm wrong)

- 1st of all, for me it is Dr. Martina Nuñez-Reyes, women in STEM, iconic

- Born and raised in San Diego, in particular in or by Barrio Logan!

- She is specifically Nahua Mexican with family in Guerrero, Mexico. She has learned a lot of Precolonial History and mythology, both in school and from her family. She also speaks Nahuatl fluently, as well as Spanish and ASL.

- Sweet, nurturing, professional, good tempered, graceful, makes lots of bad puns (she and Winston got along great), but occasionally slips in some "joking" sadism and morbid curiosity.

- Loves perfume even though she can't wear it often due to her work in laboratories and hospitals, will wear even just a little bit even at home to enjoy it.

- joined a ballet folklorico troupe up until High School, but still remembers the moves well. Specializes in Guerrero style folklorico!

- Excellent cook, amazing baker. Loves to adapt recipes to include lots of spices. (This will come back later)

- Interested in the medical field, specifically medicine itself, after learning about how advanced Mesoamerican civilizations were medically.

- Martina was a regular prodigy, attending an advanced secondary school academy in Mexico City, before continuing on to get PhDs in Medicine, Chemistry, and Pharmaceutical Science by age 24.

- By age 26 she had already made strides by synthesizing and creating medicine that was able to do things like naturally accelerate healing in the body.

- That's also when the Omnic Crisis began. She was inducted by the United States Military among swathes of other skilled doctors to create the Super Soldier Serum for the Soldier Enhancement Program (SEP) at a hidden facility.

- Six months, they managed to get it to an acceptable loss rate of 25%, and test it on 100 Soldiers. She was in charge of overseeing the injections of 20 of the 100 randomly assigned under her, which included Soldier 24, Gabriel Reyes, and Soldier 76, Jack Morrison. It was also done in doses, not all at once.

- She and Gabriel were attracted to each other but didn't act on it for quite a bit, due to the taboo nature of a doctor and a patient. They didn't flirt either, but had moments of "Oh fuck they're hot" before shaking it off.

- After the second round of doses, she lost her first soldier, which made the risk of SEP all the more apparent to her.

- Remember when I mentioned she's good at baking? She stress bakes because it helps make a zen sort of ritual of following steps/regaining a small sense of control. The reason Gabriel loves cookies? It's because he woke up at 2AM catching her stress baking a batch of Chili Chocolate Chip Cookies. It's where they had a heart to heart about Gabriel and the other Enhanced Soldiers trusting Martina and the doctors no matter the risk because they know they're liable to die in the Crisis anyway if they can't make headway.

- As the Crisis gets more dire, the General orders the doctors at the SEP facility to also go through basic military training, which Martina disliked, so she never really went past a machine pistol.

- 33 Soldiers make it out, and she sent with them on missions to retake cities across America. She wouldn't always be an active combatant, but she could hold her own if she had to.

- When Gabriel Reyes and Jack Morrison were selected to the elite Overwatch core team, she helped lead their medical support team. Also yes during this whole time, Gabriel and Martina still were attracted to each other but still sort of afraid to act because not only is she still his Doctor, he's now her commanding officer.

- Also during this period she helps treat a young Angela Ziegler during the bombing of Zurich.

- After fighting alongside Inti Warriors (Specifically Illari's dad) to help retake part of Central and South America, Gabriel almost died, which caused her to go full BAMF, and save him.

(Jack: "... can someone please tell me why our medic is rushing in alone, guns blazing?")

- They have to repair ships and stuff, so they decide to take R&R in reclaimed Guerrero, where Martina shows Gabriel around, and they end up dancing together. It's where they finally give in and end up in a relationship.

- Get married the last year of the Omnic Crisis, and have a son a few years later named Izel (who is the grown man with a family in my heart and soul in the Reflections Comic)

- Dr. Martina Nuñez-Reyes is the first Head of Medicine in Overwatch's Golden Age because goddamnit someone had to have that position before Angela.

- She's also Angela's mentor and sort of like an adoptive mom, Angela absolutely idolized her

Here's where my Canon deviates hard, because Blizzard's timeline makes no sense

(Fun fact this next part exists because I misread Code of Violence and thought that the ash and burning was from Gabriel's memories of Echo Park and not where he was so I straight up thought Martina was fridged a whole ass year before I heard the voicelines and reread it for clarity, but she's not fridged. Just stay with me.)

- On Izel's 6th birthday in Echo Park, there was an attempted assassination via explosions that caused Izel to lose his left arm and replace it with a prosthetic (the man in the Reflections comic has his left arm in his pocket)

- It also very nearly kills Martina, who is 6 MONTHS PREGNANT WITH THEIR DAUGHTER, Graciela

- The family lives, and Graciela has to be c-section delivered prematurely

- This ofc enrages Martina and Gabriel who, after recovery, hunt the motherfucker down to kill.

- It is not a quick death. Martina synthesizes POISON to make that fucker die screaming. (Basically I wanted to flip the Dead Wife trope where the wife lives and is FUCKING PISSED AND JOINS HER HUSBAND ON A ROARING RAMPAGE OF REVENGE)

- Oh yeah and that triggers the birth of Blackwatch lmao.

- Gabriel brought Cole Cassidy home for Christmas where she immediately enfolds Cole into the family.

- Martina and Gabriel also help Cole get his GED.

- Oh yeah Blackwatch

- So Martina supplies the poisons for coercion, torture, and assassination (and torture) to Blackwatch under the table for super covert missions, basically even people at Blackwatch didn't even know about. Ma'am was committing war crimes to keep the world and her babies safe. All while keeping up the sweet, dedicated, professional facade for like 14 years.

- Gabriel tries to get her to make another super soldier serum so he can be stronger, she refuses, they argue, him calling her a hypocrite, and it looks bad, UNTIL

- Shit happens and she accidentally lets a poison slip that gets reverse engineered and kills a lot of people, causing her to retire and Mercy steps up. Gabriel keeps her secret and they end up staying together

- HOWEVER, once the Venice Incident happens and Izel disowns his father, she chooses to not back up Gabriel's choices, whereas their daughter Graciela does, causing them to be separated but still married.

- Gabriel considers leaking her secret, but loves her too much to/wants the kids to have at least one parent they don't detest

- After the Swiss Explosion, Martina and Graciela mourn very badly, Izel rekindled his relationship with his mother but not Graciela

(Izel needs his own post probably lmao)

- Martina tries to move on, but finds she can't.

- listen once a man is willing to cover up war crimes for you, it's a very hard standard to meet

- She rejects the recall initially but to avoid this post from being even longer REASONS, Graciela goes with/gets kidnapped by (it's complicated) Talon, which is how Cole finds out Gabriel is Reaper

- Joins in to get her daughter back, and to redeem herself because she realizes how much destruction she caused even if people deserved it... lowkey she even doesn't fully regret it depending on the person she killed

- Her abilities are she got a CPR glove that can shock people in one hand that can pull Medicated/poison grenades out of a storage and a Pistol in the other and she can inject peeps with medication close quarters.

- She's like 63 currently also (in my Canon, Gabriel got a significant age bump with a bunch of other characters, he is 67 but is technically frozen at age 58)

- blizzard if you read this and wonder why I turned this nameless, possibly faceless character into someone that's committed war crimes, I don't got a fucking clue either

Genji x Fem!Reader

Genji Shimada. The younger brother to Hanzo, a boy with no head, some would say. One could say he’s mischievous although fun, while one could say he’s immature, not suitable for leading or being within the Shimada Clan. 

You, however, didn’t see that. You didn’t see the playboy everyone called him, you saw someone having fun, someone enjoying their life as best they can considering the circumstances he was under. He was a boy you had your eyes on ever since you first saw him. Sure, the looks played a part in it, but his personality and fun nature drew you in further. You were lucky to get close to him one night, hands brushing against each other and you swore a spark was felt. 

Once he touched your hand, it was like a switch had been flicked. He practically dropped everything to get closer to you. There were no more drunken sex-crazed nights, no more playing around with other people. His focus was all on you. 

From then on, you and the boy would meet more often, slowly turning it into a daily thing. You would talk for hours on end, getting to know each other better. Your favourite places to go were the coffee shop and the park, spending hours upon hours within each others bubble. You would sit for hours, talking and laughing and it wasn't long after the frequent meetings that you became official partners. It was an afternoon you were going to remember for years to come; the sweet and rowdy boy was timid, fumbling over his words.

He was nervous and rightfully so when he asked you. He wasn’t entirely sure you felt the same way, but when you had exclaimed a loud ‘yes’, his ears perked up and a smile filled his entire face. His arms enveloped you in a tight, yet gentle embrace, hands stroking the small of your back as his face nuzzled into the side of your neck. 

From there on, date nights happened more frequently. Movie and takeout, Genji trying to beat you at any game whether that was in the arcade or at home, sometimes you’d just go for a simple walk around the parks, taking in the scenery. Genji would always look over at you, candid images of you saved within his memory, something he would always look back on. You were perfect for him. 

Everything was perfect.

You would always shower him in love and affection. From the small things such as gentle touching, kisses on the cheek or forehead when he wasn’t paying much attention. You’d find little gifts that you thought he’d like whenever you were out shopping, small gadgets, fidget toys that he could keep in his pocket, to the latest game he was raving about. 

He would thank you profusely, wondering what brought all this on. He had never felt this kind of love before, it was all new to him but he enjoyed it. Genji loved the affection, he loved the gifts, small and big and he felt as if he could never return that favour. Despite your protests, you never wanted anything in return and anything he did return was cherished just as much as he was. 

But then things changed for awhile and he got concerned, you became somewhat distant, conversations shortened and he panicked. He thought things were going south, but what brought it on he couldn’t figure out. 

Only when he came home from a family gathering did it all make sense. 

The living room lights were dimmed, candles were lit and there was a bouquet of roses on the table. Beside the flowers was a small note, one that he hesitantly picked up. Did I miss our anniversary? Is this the calm before the storm?

The look on his face when you entered the room was enough to make anxiety rise. You saw the panic within his eyes, but that quickly diminished the moment he looked you up and down. 

While wearing a more casual yet formal attire, you looked gorgeous. Genji felt his mouth open slightly as you approached him before his hands made their way to your hips, pulling you suddenly into a kiss.

Words were exchanged, ones of “I love you,” and “I need you,” passing between the pair of you as you seated on the sofa. Something is going on…

The ninja saw the hesitation, the way your cheeks flushed, eyes averting his and your hands staying behind your back. He was about to speak when you cut him off, hand holding his before sliding off the sofa, kneeling in front of him. 

His eyes widened slightly before he realised what was going on. You could feel his hand shake in your grasp as you removed your other hand from behind your back, showing him the ring seated in the leather box. A small, yet expensive silver ring seated between the padding sparkled under the candlelight.

“Genji Shimada-” you smile, “will you be my husband?” 

It’s like the temperature in the room heightened, a warmth spreading through both bodies before the ninja nodded his head, accepting the proposal. 

Sliding the ring onto his finger, he admired the metal before he pulls you up from the ground, arms wrapped tight around you as the box falls to the floor. He was gentle, yet his kisses were rough, hands roaming your back as he pulls you even closer to his body. He wasn’t wasting anytime as he picked you up, almost throwing you back down onto the sofa.

Hands tangled in hair, both his and yours, kisses shared between lips, tongues playing and exploring. Soft gasps and whimpers filled the room, and and exploration of each others bodies ensued. 

One night led to two, then to three… You and Genji were practically inseparable, more so now than ever; hands holding each others, fingers interlocking even within the warm weather of Hanamura. You didn’t want to leave his side, and he wasn’t ready to part from you either. 

Despite his family’s objection, he didn’t care. He was all for getting married with you. A partner in crime, he would say, kissing your forehead to dispel any worries or concerns. 

He was excited for what the future holds, and if it was anything like it was before, he was ready to love every single moment of it.

PUNTATA 3: DRIFT, uno stoico samurai robot

I fan di primo pelo dei Transformers, quando sentono nominare un certo Autobot spadaccino dai tratti orientaleggianti e dal rigido codice d’onore, certamente si domanderanno: ma chi è ‘sto tizio? Ebbene, questo personaggio è stato creato dalla mente di Shane McCarthy e dalla matita dell’italiano Guido Guidi, mossi dall’idea di sapere cosa accadrebbe se un ex Decepticon diventasse un Autobot; nasce così DRIFT, uno spadaccino dall’apparente aspetto angelico per via della prevalenza del bianco nella livrea.

Dal punto di vista etimologico, il suo nome è basato sul “drifting” (cioè “derapare”),tecnica di guida giapponese che molti automobilisti professionisti usano spesso per superare le curve più strette del circuito senza perdere velocità: questo è il motivo per cui il personaggio in esame ha assunto l’altmode terrestre di un’auto sportiva, figlia di un bolide di Fast and Furious e una NASCAR. Nome e altmode a parte, sono le origini da Decepticon a renderlo unico e “stoico”. Infatti, prima di essere il Bot che noi tutti conosciamo e amiamo, Drift si chiamava Deadlock; dapprima uno sfortunato senzatetto che viveva in strada a rubacchiare Energon per sopravvivere, poi fedele guerriero al soldo di Megatron che “combatte contro gli Autobot con una coppia di potenti fucili”, prima di “raggiungere l’illuminazione” grazie ad un pugno di Cybertroniani neutrali del cosiddetto “Circolo della Luce”.

L’esordio del personaggio risale al 2008 tra le pagine IDW, anche se in quel caso (All Hail Megatron #5) era solo una mera comparsa; per la prima vera apparizione in cartaceo dobbiamo aspettare l’anno seguente, per lo Spotlight: Drift, ma le aspettative sono state tutt’altro che rosee: ciò che leggiamo in queste tavole sembra la bozza di una sceneggiatura scritta troppo in fretta, con situazioni stereotipate scopiazzate a destra e manca e ributtate assieme alla rinfusa. L’effetto pathos e la voglia di leggerne ancora che l’autore, forse, si illude di creare non rivelando tutti gli elementi della storia di Drift non nasce nel lettore. Peccato, però, che non tutti la pensavano in questo modo, tanto che nel 2010 la IDW ha addirittura pubblicato una miniserie dedicata a Drift e sempre scritta da McCarthy. Il tiro è lievemente migliorato, perché questa volta leggiamo le origini del personaggio da rude Decepticon braccato da un feroce cacciatore di taglie, fino a ricevere finalmente l’aspetto che abbiamo imparato a conoscere. Negli anni Dieci del Duemila, nel frattempo, Drift diventa a tutti gli effetti l’Autobot preferito della IDW al punto da ritrovarlo come protagonista nella saga Empire of Stone e poi tra gli Autobot protagonisti di More than Meets the Eye prima e Lost Light poi. Da allora, sfortunatamente, Drift non è più comparso in altri media in quanto personaggio esclusivamente dei fumetti... fino al 2014.

Quell’anno, infatti, segna il suo ritorno in chiave moderna col debutto sul grande schermo negli ultimi capitoli della saga Transformers live action diretta da MichaelBay, ovvero L’Era dell’Estinzione e L’Ultimo Cavaliere! In questo caso, se l’originale omonimo “cartaceo” ricordava in parte un samurai, il Drift bayformer appesantisce il concetto tanto nel look quanto nella parlata: una caricatura di MTMTE ed è pure un Triple Changer, poiché oltre alla modalità di Bugatti Veyron sfoggia anche quella di elicottero. In effetti, Drift è il primo “Tripla Azione” del Movie-verso, considerando i due altmode completamente diversi e non uno ibrido dell’altro. E sebbene sia un’altra caratteristica fondamentale del Drift originale e che sia menzionata nelle Bio dei personaggi, il fatto di essere un ex-Decepticon non viene mai detto nel film. Magari gli sceneggiatori sono partiti da Springer (famoso Autobot nel brand armato di spada e con due altmode proprio di auto ed elicottero) per creare il personaggio che poi è divenuto Drift. Guerriero giapponese a tutti gli effetti, seppur stereotipato fino al midollo, e con una nuova livrea nera e blu con tocchi dorati... per poi diventare rosso e nero e con l’altmode di Mercedes AMG GT R nel successivo capitolo della saga di Bay.

Ovviamente non possiamo non menzionare delle brevi particine in altri universi TF. Ad esempio, per la serie Animated, c’è un Drift nel volume The Complete AllSpark Almanac del 2010, sebbene il suo design somigliante a Blurr/Cheetor non piacesse al padre della serie in persona, Derrick J.Wyatt. Due anni dopo, riappare nell’universo speculare Shattered Glass nei panni di un guerriero sempre pronto a “spazzare via quegli invasori che osano varcare la soglia del suo universo”. Quest’ultima versione, inoltre, nasconde una piccola, divertente curiosità: Drift è stato per la prima volta descritto dalla Fun Publications (cioè la casa proprietaria dell’officiale Club dei Collezionisti Transformers e della Convention ad essa dedicata) come “il Bot chiacchierone”. Infatti, se il G1Drift è un “oscuro ninja” cauto, silenzioso e prudente, lo Shattered Glass è letteralmente il suo esatto opposto; un folle mercenario, appunto, che è solito rompere la quarta parete spesso e volentieri esattamente come l’(anti)eroe più pazzo e degenerato della Marvel, Deadpool!

Nella primavera del 2015, in occasione dell’arrivo della nuova serie animata successiva a Prime, Drift esordisce anche in TV in Robots in Disguise, più precisamente nel dodicesimo episodio della Stagione 1, intitolato La Stagione di Caccia: qui la squadra di Bumblebee si ritrova ad affrontare il noto robot-samurai e la sua nemesi, il Decepticon Fracture, impegnati ad aggiudicarsi la taglia che l’Alto Consiglio ha posto sulla testa di Bee dopo la sua irruzione in un certo museo su Cybertron. Solo cinque episodi dopo, Si è Perso un Minicon!, si assiste al suo ingresso permanente nel Bee Team, diventando uno degli Autobot principali del cast. Curiosamente, in questa serie, Drift ha mantenuto sì il look da samurai, ma più edulcorato e con un’inedita combinazione di arancione/nero/rosso che ironicamente era il primo schema cromatico usato nei primi concept art della sua controparte cinematografica. In realtà, troviamo diverse parti in comune tra i due Drift: in primo luogo, usano lo stesso codice d’onore personale in combattimento, quindi condividono quella magica aura stoica che rende entrambi i personaggi “mistici”; in secondo luogo, l’altmode del RiD Drift ricorda una Bugatti Veyron, appunto lo stesso veicolo nel quale si trasformava la sua controparte filmica; infine, il rapporto tra lui e Bumblebee è simile sia nel cartone che nel film, in quanto hanno pareri contrastanti su leadership, strategia e combattimento tali da far nascere in loro una lieve rivalità. Ciononostante, si comportano come dei buoni compagni di squadra tanto sul campo di battaglia quanto fuori.

Ben più innovativa è la controparte Cyberverse del 2018/19, in cui il personaggio intraprende un vero e proprio percorso di transizione: questa, infatti, è indubbiamente la prima versione di Drift a essere sempre stata un Decepticon, rompendo la tradizione dei suoi predecessori permanentemente radicati alla fazione degli Autobot. Esteticamente Deadlock appare come una versione modificata del G1 Springer di Guido Guidi – seppur con alcune differenze quali la posizione del simbolo Decepticon e la cabina dell’altmode sul petto – mentre Drift è identico in tutto e per tutto all’omonimo G1 salvo per licenze stilistiche minori (i piedi che assomigliano alle calzature tradizionali giapponesi simili alle nostre infradito, per esempio).

Come promesso dai rumor susseguitisi durante la sua creazione e apparizione nei fumetti, anche Drift è stato riprodotto come modellino: il primo di una lunga serie ha inaugurato la linea Generations del 2010, quest’ultima allo scopo di proseguire idealmente lo stile delle precedenti Classics ed Universe 2.0. In altmode questo Deluxe si presenta come un ibrido tra una Nissan Silvia S15 e una Mitsubishi FTO e, nel complesso, è fedelissimo al design di Guidi, ogni dettaglio è riprodotto superbamente! Altmode dalla colorazione tamarra come poche, un robot che strizza l’occhio a tutti i Gundam dal ‘91 in poi, per tacer dello spadone à la Final Fantasy con tanto di kanji... due dei quali sono presenti anche sulle portiere del veicolo, tra l’altro! Di questo bestione sono susseguite altre ristampe e recolor: due Takara United (un Drift e un Blurr simili ai rispettivi Generations ma con una colorazione più fedele alle controparti cartacee), lo Shattered Glass Timeline in esclusiva per il Club dei Collezionisti, il Blurr dell’Hasbro Platinum Edition... e infine Deadlock, uscito per la linea Takara Legends.

Per il Drift bayformer, dobbiamo aspettare il 2014 per l’inedita linea del quarto film di Bay – linea che, ripetiamo, non è mai arrivata in Italia. Il Deluxe è squisitamente pregevole e ben articolato, nonostante la colorazione prevalentemente sul blu che con la controparte CG quasi non centra nulla; tuttavia, il Takara Movie Advance e l’Hasbro Platinum Edition compensano con una show accuracy migliore, mentre il modellino per la successiva linea The Last Knight è solo leggermente riscolpito e ricolorato per assomigliare al “nuovo” Drift vestito da Mercedes. Per la successiva linea celebrativa Studio Series (2019/20), viene ripresentato il modellino di cui sopra ma con una livrea molto più somigliante alla controparte cinematografica. Inoltre, abbiamo già detto che Drift è il primo effettivo Triple Changer, ma purtroppo gli addetti ai lavori non sono riusciti a replicare la cosa tra i modellini, nonostante ne esista uno a parte per la modalità di elicottero... che però è il remold di Dark of the Moon Skyhammer. Stesso discorso per il Drift elicottero della Studio Series, anch’esso remold pesante di Bumblebee (2018) Dropkick.

Anche nella linea Robots in Disguise (2015) Drift ha ricevuto millemila trattamenti. Dall’One-Step al Legion, fino al 3-Step Changers, passando poi a un Warrior da applausi e un interessante ma mediocre Deployer... sì, perché questa versione di Drift è accompagnata da Minicon, anch’essi con un look tra il samurai e il ninja: Jetstorm è quello in nero e armato di nunchuck, omonimo tanto del Generale dei Vehicon jet di Beast Machines quanto del gemello blu di Animated Jetfire. Slipstream è invece quello in rosso e armato di naginata, un omonimo questa volta del clone femminile di Animated Starscream (che solo nelle reincarnazioni più recenti è diventato un personaggio autonomo). Inoltre, il solo Warrior Drift ha ben quattro versioni (escludendo la canonica Hasbro), tra cui un Origins Drift della Takarae un Alpine Strike della Hasbro che raffigurano il personaggio con un look reminiscente alla controparte IDW G1.

Di tutt’altro stampo, invece, sono i Warrior della linea Cyberverse, che rappresentano rispettivamente l’incarnazione Decepticon e Autobot del personaggio. Nonostante i due modelli si somiglino per colore e scultura dell’altmode, i robot hanno una diversa morfologia e gimmik d’attacco, oltre al fatto che Drift è dotato di articolazioni ai polsi. Non saranno i modellini più belli della linea, ma di sicuro rendono giustizia a un Bot pesantemente sottovalutato dalla maggior parte delle masse!

CONCLUSIONE

Drift passerà sicuramente alla storia non solo per il fascino del suo look ispirato al paese del Sol Levante tanto amato da noi occidentali, ma anche per il carisma del personaggio raffigurato che sfocia fra l’anonimo e il conosciuto. Certo, le incarnazioni avute con gli anni sono diversissime ma tutte sono state coerenti e rispettose nei confronti del capostipite IDW. Un caso più unico che raro, detto francamente, e mi fa piacere vederlo in uno dei miei (ennesimi!) Bot preferiti. 😅

He crushes on Amy INSTANTLY (ofc) but over time, once he gets to know Amy better, he starts to love her EVEN MORE. Cuz in my opinion "love at first sight" isn't really a thing, it's cute but having his love for her grow even more over time is a lot more cute and wholesome ❤ (imo)

At first, she thinks Sonic is a dork, she finds it cute but denies the idea of her liking him. But then getting to know him, she thinks "ok, I might like him, but I don't want anything to do with him" then something happens like he does something like, a heroic act or something (Idk lol) that makes Amy fall for him in that moment! making her think, "ok, maybe I like this guy more than I thought"

So yeah! That's my headcanon there XD 💙🩹🩷
